Remembering the Fallen
This Remembrance had a special meaning this year as it was the 100 year anniversary since the end of World War I.
The residents and staff of Brockhampton spent many hours creating a “Veil of Remembrance” by handmaking over 300 poppies.
We think you’ll agree, all their hard work paid off and the end result was very impressive.
In order to commerate this event, we took part in the lighting of beacons across the country, by having our own lighting ceremony.
“On Flanders Field” was read out and then, with the kind assistance of Stan Wood, who was our banner bearer, a two minutes silence was observed and then the beacon was lit.
The whole event was throughly appreciated by the residents, families and staff.
Lest we Forget.
